6.1.9.2. Technical condition of damping racks of a back suspension bracket

Check of technical condition on the car includes periodic check of tightness and overall performance of damping racks and shock-absorbers. It is necessary to pay attention to noisiness of work of racks and shock-absorbers, and also to watch a condition of antisplash covers of racks.

Check of tightness of racks and shock-absorbers and condition of covers of racks is carried out by visual survey.

In the presence of smudges of damping liquid on the top part of the tank (at a rack – below an antisplash cover or only in this cover) it is necessary to replace or repair a damping rack or the shock-absorber. Small oil spots on the tank are not a sign of malfunction and do not serve as the reason of replacement or repair of a damping rack (shock-absorber).

In the presence of ruptures of a cover of a damping rack it should be replaced.

Deformation and damage of tanks and their details (a spring cup with the amplifier, brackets) is not allowed.

Before check of overall performance of damping elements it is necessary to be convinced of serviceability of a rubber-metal support of a damping rack, rubber plugs of pillows of fastening of shock-absorbers of a back suspension bracket, and also springs and other hinged connections of forward and back suspension brackets. Efficiency of work of damping racks and shock-absorbers should be checked at special stands.

In the absence of stands the rough estimate of a condition of a damping rack (shock-absorber) on the car can be also made. For this purpose it is necessary to shake a car body, pressing it manually it is consecutive with right and on the left side of a forward or back part several times so that amplitude of fluctuations reached about 30-50 mm. If after an otpuskaniye of hands in the lower provision of a body he makes more than one and a half cycles of fluctuations – the damping rack (shock-absorber) means demands repair or replacement by service stations.

At emergence of extraneous noise and knocks in a damping rack (shock-absorber) it is also necessary to address on service station for check.
