When dismantling a head of the block it is necessary to mark all yokes and expansion plugs, and also each valve.

Adaptation is used to removal of valves (see rice. Stripper of valves).

At assembly of a head of cylinders it is necessary to check a state and size of wear of cores of valves and their guides of plugs, working facets, saddles and valvate springs. At each assembly of a head of cylinders with valves after repair or after grinding in of valves it is obligatory to replace sealing washers of a plate of springs of the valve new, irrespective of a state.

At wear of cores of valves to replace valves new.

At installation in a head it is obligatory to grease cores of valves with graphitic lubricant.

Before installation of axes of yokes to check degree of wear of working surfaces of yokes and their axes and if necessary to replace worn-out details. To make installation of yokes and expansion plugs according to the tags made during the dismantling, and an axis of yokes according to the beaten-out tags of "VP" and "VYP" (fig. The sizes of facets after additional grinding of a saddle of valves). Before installation of yokes on an axis of a surface of openings in yokes to grease with graphitic lubricant. Shooters on axes have to be directed towards a flywheel.

It is obligatory to make grinding of working facets of saddles of valves when replacing of the directing plugs of valves, and also at big wear and a beating of facets of saddles concerning an axis of openings of the directing plugs.

Consider that the valve well adjoins to a saddle if the corbel of paint formed on a valve head settles down in a middle part of a facet, and corbel width (fig. The sizes of facets after additional grinding of a saddle of valves) is in limits of 1,2-1,5 mm as for the inlet, and final valve.

If the specified requirement is not fulfilled, the saddle of the valve should be proshlifovat in addition. Beating size for facets of saddles of inlet and final valves should not exceed 0,05 mm.

Grinding of a working facet of the valve is made when on its surface there are traces of a progar, a sink and other damages. The special machine is used to grinding of working facets of valves.

When grinding it is necessary to remove the minimum layer of metal to remove blackness, sinks and a beating which are available on a working facet of the valve. When grinding to watch that the facet did not come to an edge and there was always a cylindrical corbel not less than 0,5 mm.

In case of wear of the directing plugs more than on 0,08 mm they are pressed off in the direction of the combustion chamber outside by means of a special mandrel and the hammer or under a press. Then in a head of cylinders from which a vypressovan the plug, to develop an opening to diameter of 15,12-15,142 mm; further:

 – to press in the developed opening in a head of cylinders the repair plug having the outer diameter (15,172–15,184 mm) increased by 0,15 mm. The press fitting should be made a mandrel by means of which the vypressovka was made. Before a press fitting previously to impregnate the directing plugs manufactured of metal ceramics in engine oil during not less than 1,5 h. At a press fitting to sustain the size specified rice.  – to develop an opening in the pressed plug to diameter of 8,008-8,026 mm. At the same time ovality and conicity should not be more than 0,006 mm. After expansion of an opening to check straightforwardness of the plug a mandrel diameter of 7,995 mm which has to pass freely at all length of the plug.

It must be kept in mind that the effort created by a spring decreases if the facet of the valve and a facet of a saddle were subjected to grinding as at the same time the working height of a spring increases and, therefore, the effort of pressing of the valve to a saddle decreases. Therefore at assembly of details of the valvate mechanism under basic plates of springs it is necessary to enclose additional washers. To choose thickness of washers so that at the closed valve length of a big spring was 36,5 mm.
At each dismantling of the valvate mechanism it is necessary to make replacement of old sealing washers 1 (fig. A design of consolidation of a gap between crackers of the valve of engines of fashion. 331, 3317 and 3313) new. To make final check of sealing washers after assembly of a head of cylinders.

For this purpose to establish a head so that axes of each number of valves were serially vertical, and in gaps between crackers to pour gasoline. If gasoline remains a long time in gaps between crackers, then sealing washers provide consolidation. At valves where gasoline filters to replace sealing washers.

Check of tightness of valves can be carried out on infiltration of the kerosene which is filled in in the combustion chamber.

In case of leakage of valves it is necessary to make their grinding in.

At grinding in not to remove from working facets of valves and saddles it is too much metal as it reduces the number of repairs of a saddle and the valve and by that reduces the general duration of their service. By the end of grinding in to reduce the content of emery powder in pritirochny paste, and and will accept equal grayish color, grinding in to conduct with the moment when the ground-in surfaces become absolutely smooth only on one pure oil. An external sign of satisfactory grinding in is monophonic opaque gray color (without black spots) on working surfaces of a head of the valve and its saddle.
