9.8.2. Removal and installation of blocks of a back brake

Removal of a coupling spring of blocks of a back brake

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove the brake drum.
2. To remove coupling springs 12 and 29 (see rice. Brake mechanisms of back wheels) blocks.
3. Raising the end of a clamping spring 9, to take out a front brake shoe.
4. To remove an expansion level of blocks assembled with the spring which is put on it 12.
5. To remove a back brake shoe together with the razzhimny lever 25 and the back cable attached to it.
6. Having wrung out a spring of a back cable 28, to take out its tip from a groove of the razzhimny lever.
7. To remove razzhimny the lever from a back block, having parted the ends of a castle washer 21.
8. To clear the removed brake shoes of dust and dirt. To replace blocks with worn-out frictional slips new (thickness of a frictional slip has to be not less than 1,5 mm).

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To make installation of blocks upside-down, considering at the same time the following.
2. At installation of blocks with new frictional slips the pistons 15 inserted into rings 17 to shift in the wheel cylinder against the stop one in another, having sustained the sizes from a piston end face to a cylinder end face on both sides, equal 11 mm.
3. To make shift easy blows of the hammer through a wooden mandrel.

Prevention

Each excess movement of a ring, hit of dirt can lead to education longitudinal рисок on "mirror" of the cylinder, promoting a leak of brake fluid.
