9.6. Vacuum amplifier
The vacuum amplifier installed between a brake pedal and the main cylinder of a brake creates additional effort when braking on a rod 35 (see rice. The main cylinder and the vacuum amplifier of a brake) the piston of the main cylinder due to depression in the soaking-up engine pipe (transfer number of the amplifier – 2,2).
Efficiency of the vacuum amplifier on the car is defined by the next way: having pressed a brake pedal by effort 180–200 N (18–20 kgfs), to begin launch of the engine. If at the initial moment at rotation the additional course of a brake pedal occurs a starter of a bent shaft or at the time of the beginning of operation of the engine on small turns, then it shows that the amplifier works.
If on the heated-up engine working at the idling mode by slow pressing a brake pedal changes in operation of the engine are not observed, then the vacuum amplifier under loading is tight.
The vacuum amplifier is one of car knots, responsible and difficult on a design, in this connection the malfunctions which arose in it are recommended to be eliminated only at service station of cars.
