On engines 331, 3317 and 3313 the starter 4216.3708 representing the electric motor of a direct current of the mixed excitement with the electromagnetic traction relay 18 located on the starter case is established.
The starter has four poles with the coils of 31 excitement located on them which are connected among themselves paired in parallel.
The anchor of the 30th starter rotates in three bronze-and-graphite bearings 6, 23 and 28 installed in covers 1 and 20. Covers are attached to the case 32 starters by two coupling hairpins.
On a back cover it is fixed a traverse 7 on which two isolated brush holders and two brush holders closed on "weight" are strengthened. In brush holders the brushes isolated and closed on "weight" are placed respectively.
