Measurement of a gap between a conrod neck and an insert by means of the calibrated wire

The gap between inserts and a neck of a bent shaft can be checked calculation (having measured details) or the calibrated plastic wire.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To carefully clear a working surface of inserts and a conrod neck and to establish conrod and piston group on a neck of a bent shaft according to numbering.
2. To place a piece of the calibrated wire on the surface of a conrod neck, to establish a rod cover on a rod and to tighten nuts. Moment of an inhaling of 52 N · m (5,2 kgfs · м).
3. To uncover also on a scale 4 (fig. Measurement of a gap between a conrod neck and an insert by means of the calibrated wire), put on packing to determine gap size by flattening of a wire.

Nominal assembly gap between inserts and necks of 0,036-0,086 mm. If the gap is no more maximum permissible at wear of 0,1 mm, then it is possible to establish these inserts, without changing diameter of conrod necks.

At a gap it is more maximum permissible at wear of 0,1 mm it is necessary to replace inserts repair (the tab. Sets of inserts of bearings of the repair sizes and the repair sizes of necks of a bent shaft) and to proshlifovat conrod necks according to data on the repair sizes of a bent shaft (see subsection 4.8.5.3).

If on a working surface of inserts deep risks or they are too worn-out, it is necessary to replace inserts new.

It is recommended to replace inserts of conrod bearings along with replacement of piston rings. It will allow to avoid repeated repair, and, above all – will improve operating conditions of conrod necks of a bent shaft and considerably will increase the term of their service. Inserts of radical bearings usually replace after the considerable run of the car which engine was exposed to one or two maintenance earlier. Inserts replace without any subracing operations and only in pairs, replacement of one insert from couple is inadmissible. At installation of inserts it is necessary to watch that the fixing ledges on joints densely entered the corresponding grooves of the block of the cylinder, covers of radical bearings, rods and their covers. After replacement of inserts of conrod or radical bearings during 1000 km of a run the speed of the car should not exceed 60 km/h.
