8.5. Spherical hinges of steering draftsDismantling

1. To remove the forelock wire from an antisplash cover 39 (see rice. Steering
management) to remove a cover and a basic washer 32. |
| 2. To squeeze short moustaches of a lock ring 36 and to take out it from the case of an external tip 3 steering drafts. |
| 3. To remove from the tip case a cap 35, a sealing ring 37, a spring 34, press 33 and lower basic inserts 38, a spherical finger 40 and the top insert 38. |

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. After dismantling it is necessary to wash out a cavity of a tip of steering draft and all metal details in kerosene, and rubber and plastic – in warm water and to wipe. |
| 2. To examine attentively whether is not present on the working surfaces of a spherical finger 40, basic inserts 38 and on seats of the case of a tip of 3 wear tracks, zadir or рисок. |
| 3. To replace the worn-out and damaged details. |

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. To enclose in the case of a tip of steering draft the top basic insert, a spherical finger, lower and press inserts, a spring, a sealing ring and a cap, previously having greased them with fatty solid oil. |
| 2. Having drowned a cap the screw-driver, to establish a lock ring in a tip case flute, having squeezed short moustaches of a lock ring. |
| 3. Shaking a spherical finger a hand from one extreme situation in another, to be convinced that movement of a finger demands some effort. If after replacement of worn-out details swing of a finger nevertheless is very easy, it is necessary to enclose under a cap a steel washer 0,5-2,0 mm thick and diameter equal to diameter of a cap. |
| 4. Axial movement of a finger should not be more than 0,5 mm at effort of 80-100 N · m (8–10 kgfs · м). |
| 5. To put on a finger a basic washer, and the case of a tip of steering draft the antisplash cover which is completely filled with fatty solid oil. |
| 6. To accurately enclose a wire in a cover groove, to twirl its ends on 2–3 turns and to screw a nut on the carving end of a shaft of a spherical finger. |
| 7. To make a final inhaling of a nut after connection of a spherical finger to the rotary lever on the car. The moment of an inhaling of 30-40 N · m (· м). A nut to zashplintovat 3–4 kgfs. |
