11.5.2.2. Dismantling of a starter

Details of a starter 35.3708

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To turn off a nut of the lower contact bolt of the traction relay of a starter and to disconnect from it a stator winding conclusion.
2. To turn off nuts of fastening of the traction relay and to remove it.
3. To unscrew screws and to remove the protection cover 8. To unscrew fastening screws to brush holders of conclusions of a winding of the stator, to remove springs 7 and brushes 6.
4. To remove a lock ring 9.
5. To turn out coupling bolts and to disconnect the case 11 with a cover 5 from a cover 1 with an anchor 13.
6. To take out a cap 2 levers from a cover, to rasshplintovat and take out a lever axis 3 drives of a starter, to take out the lever and an anchor from a cover.
7. To remove the drive from an anchor, it is necessary to remove a lock ring from under a restrictive ring 16. The drive understands after removal from a nave of the obgonny coupling of a lock washer.
8. For dismantling of the traction relay it is necessary to turn off nuts of coupling bolts and to unsolder conclusions of windings from the plug "50" and from the tip fixed on the lower contact bolt.
9. After dismantling to blow details compressed air and to wipe.

Check of technical condition and repair

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Anchor
1. To check the megohm meter or by means of the lamp fed by voltage of 220 V whether there is no short circuit of a winding of an anchor on "weight".
2. Tension through a lamp is brought to plates of a collector and to the anchor core. Burning of a lamp indicates short circuit of a winding or plate of a collector with "weight". When checking the megohm meter has to show resistance not less than 10 kOhm. To replace the anchor having short circuit with "weight".
3. To check a condition of surfaces of shliyets and pins of a shaft of an anchor. On them there should not be zadir, забоин and wear. If on a surface of a shaft traces of yellow color from the gear wheel plug appeared, to remove them with a fine-grained grinding skin as they can become the reason of jamming of a gear wheel on a shaft.
Drive
4. The drive of a starter has to freely, without noticeable jammings to move on a shlitsevy shaft and to come back from working situation to the relay, initial under the influence of a returnable spring of an anchor.
5. At turn of a gear wheel of the drive in the direction of rotation of an anchor the anchor should not rotate. The gear wheel has to be turned concerning an anchor shaft under the influence of the moment no more than 27 N · by cm (2,8 kgfs · cm).
6. Teeths of a gear wheel should not have considerable wear. If on a zakhodny part of teeths there are zaboina, then to polish them a fine-grained emery circle of small diameter. The gear wheel has to be turned easily concerning a nave of the obgonny coupling, but only in the direction of rotation of an anchor at start of the engine.
7. If details of the drive are damaged or are considerably worn-out, to replace the drive new.
Stator
8. To check the megohm meter or by means of the lamp fed by voltage of 220 V whether there is no short circuit of a winding of the stator on "weight".
9. Tension through a lamp is brought to the general conclusion of a winding and to the starter case. If the lamp burns or the megohm meter shows resistance less than 10 kOhm and also if the winding has overheat traces (isolation blackening), it is necessary to replace the case with windings.
Covers
10. To check whether is not present on covers of cracks.
11. If they are available, to replace covers new. To check a condition of plugs of covers. If they are worn-out, then to replace covers assembled or only plugs. New plugs after a press fitting to develop 12,015 0,03 mm to diameter.
12. To check reliability of fastening of brush holders on a cover from a collector, brush holders of positive brushes should not have short circuits with "weight". Brushes have to move freely in grooves of brush holders. To replace the brushes which are worn out on height to 12 mm new, previously having ground in them to a collector.
13. To check a dynamometer effort with which springs press on brushes and if necessary to replace springs new. This effort for new brushes has to make 9,8±0,98 N.
Traction relay of a starter
14. To check ease of movement of an anchor of the relay. To check a condition of contacts. If they burned slightly, to smooth out them a fine-grained skin or a flat velvet file. At considerable damage of contact bolts to the place of contact they with a contact plate bolts can be turned on 180 °.
15. To check the relay winding resistance, reliability of connection of its conclusions with the plug "50", with "weight" and the lower contact bolt and also whether there are no winding overheat traces. To replace the damaged relay new.
